Using your phone abroad

How do I make a call home?

You’ll need to dial the Irish international prefix ‘00353’ and drop the first 0 of the number you’re calling. For example:

For a Meteor mobile number dial 0035385xxxxxxx , or for a Dublin landline dial 003531xxxxxx.

Sometimes dialling 00353 may not work, so you’ll need to dial +353 instead of 00353.

Choosing a contact in your phone and hitting dial directly from your contacts list while roaming will not work unless you have the prefix saved in front of the number.

If you have a couple of numbers you dial regularly, you should change the number to include the international prefix. You won’t need to change this back – as it will also work when calling at home.
