Top Up, Charges & Add-Ons

Why is my credit going missing?

If you notice that your credit is going missing and you can't work out why, below are the most common reasons why this may be happening:

Your offer may not be active

If you're availing of a top up offer, and you notice that credit is going missing there's a chance that you missed a step in the activation process. After topping up you will receive two texts – one to thank you for topping up and one that confirms your offer has been activated. Please wait until you receive the second text before you start using your phone as your offer will not be active until after you receive this text and you will be charged at a standard rate for any services you use during this time.

Your offer may have run out

Double check whether you’ve run out of your top-up days. If you’ve missed this date simply top up to activate your offer again.

Free Meteor to Meteor calls

If you are on free Meteor to Meteor calls you will need to hang up and redial the call after 59 minutes. This is covered in the terms and conditions of service.

Roaming

Your regular plan does not cover usage while roaming. This means that offers such as ‘free calls and texts’/’free texts to any network’ do not apply while roaming.

Voicemail

Calls to your voicemail may be charged depending on your price plan.

If you use your voicemail service abroad:

In Europe (Zone 1) countries: If someone leaves you a message, it’s free, you’re only charged when you listen to it.

Outside of EU Zone 1 countries: you will be charged per minute for listening to voicemail messages. You will also be charged if someone leaves you a voice message. To avoid these charges, you can cancel your call diverts before you travel. You can do this by dialling ##002# or by contacting us.

It’s possible that the problem may not be related to the offer you’re on.

Premium texts

It’s possible you’ve subscribed yourself to a premium text service – see our FAQ above for full hints and tips.

Data charges

Watching videos or listening to music on your phone can eat into your data allowances quickly. These are services we recommend keeping an eye on, as anything that requires a constant source of data over a period of time will eat into your allowances quickly. It is best to access video based sources (such as YouTube and music/radio streaming) over WiFi.

You can monitor your data allowances by texting ‘balance data’ to 50104. You can view your call details by logging into MyMeteor.

Did you make an international call?

If you’re availing of an offer where international calls are charged at a lower rate, make sure that the country you’re calling is included on the list.
